​​We’ve been taught that confidence comes from believing in yourself, having more experience, or feeling more prepared.

But that’s not confidence — that’s circumstance.

Real confidence is the ability to regulate your nervous system in the circumstance.

And right now, our world is eroding that ability.

Constant stimulation, short-form content, and algorithms designed to keep us slightly agitated prevent the nervous system from fully down-regulating. Confidence becomes unfamiliar. Anxiety becomes the default.
